About Regal Swim

My name is Marci, and I’d love to tell you about Regal Swim! I started Regal Swim in 2016 after three summers as an ocean lifeguard and five summers as a swim instructor. Over the years, I’ve modified the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program to help students learn to swim as efficiently as possible. The levels I’ve created start by focusing on survival swimming and move into teaching stroke technique. As Regal Swim has grown, I’ve been able to hire some wonderful instructors to help teach lessons and lifeguard.

It’s important to me to hire reliable, quality instructors. All of the Regal Swim instructors have at least a bachelor’s degree, pass a swim test that I administer, and pass a background test. They come from diverse swimming backgrounds and bring a variety of teaching techniques with them. I also spend time training each instructor.

Coach Marci

Hi!  My name is Marci.  I’m the owner of Regal Swim.  After four years on the Cal Poly Triathlon Team, three summers as an ocean lifeguard, and completing the American Red Cross WSI course, I began teaching swim lessons in 2011.  During my years as a swim instructor, I’ve worked with swimmers of all levels from beginners afraid to put their face in the water to competitive teens and adults. Over the years, I’ve developed a curriculum based on the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program to provide structured swim lessons. I push my students to overcome any fears they have of the water and become confident swimmers.

Marci teaches swim lessons in Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and Torrance.

Coach Daniel

Daneil Regal Swim

Hello, my name is Daniel.  I started teaching swim lessons when I was in high school.  Then I went to Marquette University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.  During that time, I received training on how to work with students with special needs, including autism.  Now I have 10+ years of experience in teaching and childcare. From instructing surf and swim lessons, working at a daycare and nannying, to being an Autism therapist, I am comfortable and competent in working with a wide variety of students!  My fun, happy, and calm persona creates a fun and safe space for children to play, learn, and explore life.

Coach Daniel teaches in Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Venice, Marina del Rey, Mar Vista, Culver City, Del Rey, Palms, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, Westchester, Ladera Heights, Inglewood, and Lennox!

Coach Carly

Carly Regal Swim

Hi, I’m a lifelong swimmer, swim coach, and marathon swimmer. I’ve been teaching and coaching for the last decade, working with all ages from young kids learning to swim to accomplished adults training for triathlons, marathons, and masters level swimming. I was also a high school coach for 5 years and now coach both the men’s and women’s swim programs at Chapman University. I truly enjoy helping accomplished swimmers refine their technique, but my passion lies in working with beginners—those little ones just starting their swim journey and discovering the joy of the water!

Coach Carly teaches in Torrance, Hawthorne, Del Aire, Lawndale, Alondra Park, Gardena, and North Harbor Gateway.

Coach Mackenzie: Coming Soon!

Mackenzie About Regal Swim

Hey, my name is Mackenzie. I grew up competing in both swim and soccer. In college, I played soccer in at New York’s Ithaca College while pursuing my BS in Health Sciences. My whole life I’ve had a true passion for fitness and wellness. I obtained my ACE fitness instructor certification with the intention of spreading the power of exercise to my clients. Personally, I’ve found my time in the water to be the most beneficial both physically and mentally. Sharing in the release that swimming provides with others is an important part of my life. My favorite ways to enjoy the water are open-water swimming, surfing, and swimming with my dog Dill. (I taught him everything he knows!)

Coach Mackenzie teaches in Palos Verdes Estates, Ranchos Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Harbor City, Lomita, and San Pedro.

Coach Daniel: Coming This July!

Dudley About Regal Swim

Hi! My name is Dudley, and I’m from Nashville. I swam competitively from the age of five through high school and now channel that passion into long-distance open-water swimming. I love helping swimmers push past their perceived limits while prioritizing safety. As a licensed EMT, I bring a strong understanding of injury prevention and emergency response. I hold a BS in Kinesiology from William & Mary and serve as an Officer in the National Guard. When I’m not in the water, you’ll find me backpacking or experimenting in the kitchen.

Coach Dudley will teach swim lessons in Palos Verdes Estates, Ranchos Palos Verdes, Rollings Hills, and Rolling Hills Estates. He will start swim lessons at the end of July, which means he will begin booking May 1!

Coach Jehn: Lifeguard Only

Jehn Regal Swim

Hi, my name is Jehn. I graduated from Biola University with degrees in Journalism and Counseling (BA/MA), but I stuck with a career in aquatics. As someone who loves being around any kind of water and has an interest in sports med/fitness, I first became a lifeguard at my college pool. I am intricately familiar with all things lifeguarding, as a current American Red Cross Lifeguard/Instructor. Over the last 9 years, I have lifeguarded year-round at various summer camps, city recreation centers, gyms, private parties and more. In addition to being a lifeguard, I have managed lifeguards at HOA pools, aquatic centers, a mid-size waterpark, and a sports club.

Coach Jehn will be lifeguarding pool parties this summer.
